OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of the Delivery Driver is to complete assigned deliveries, collect payment in accordance with the payment terms for the customer, and communicate clearly with the team in order to provide timely deliveries for our customers. We expect a driver to give our customers great service, by creating relationships, being dependable, dedicated and taking initiative of your delivery territory. While maintaining the integrity of Grapevine values with a positive attitude.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver assigned invoices and collect payments or signatures in accordance with the terms listed on the invoice
. Provide Customer Service to accounts on route
Verify product is correct against shipping invoice
Maintain records, reports, driver logs and transfer logs
Service vehicle with water, fuel or oil as needed
Report vehicle malfunctions, damage or maintenance needed to the Fleet manager
Maintain a clean vehicle
Some shifts may include work in the warehouse pulling and checking orders
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Must be able to Multitask and see a project through to completion.
Proven communication proficiency, both verbally and written, with people at all levels of an organization
Ability to handle confidential information
Assertive self-starter
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical delivery conditions, driving company vehicle safely, following traffic laws and transportation procedures
Lifting up to 40 pounds repeatedly
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or carry, and reach with hands and arms.
